As a leader in the congregation, a pastor will always want to enable his members to succeed in whatever area of service they are functioning. This is especially true of training a congregation’s elders. An elder doesn’t have the same depth of training as a pastor does, and so it is the job of a pastor to set these men up to succeed in the tasks that they will be carrying out.
