The Application of the Scriptural Principles of Fellowship to the Participation of Non-WELS Students in Religion-Oriented
Full Title: “The Application of the Scriptural Principles of Fellowship to the Participation of Non-WELS Students in Religion-Oriented School Activities” (truncated by the website)
Asked to define a standard which Synod schools should follow in allowing non-WELS students participation in religious functions of the school, Gerlach states that “whether or not to cast non-WELS students in leadership roles involves a question of good judgment rather than a question of the proper application of fellowship principles.” He advises against drawing up a rule and recommends that each case be examined in light of the Lord’s intentions in establishing principles of fellowship and the public confession of the student and his/her family.
